What is the DFW Metroplex?

Welcome to DFW !

Live large. Think Big – an appropriate slogan for the number one visitor destination in the Lone Star State.
Dallas is a great place to be in business. Not only is Dallas the largest metropolitan area in Texas, it is the ninth-largest metro in the U.S.
Fort Worth, on the other hand, is much more than a smaller version of Dallas- and much different than Dallas, too. It’s the 17th largest city in the U.S. and was also named one of the “America’s Most Livable Communities.” A thriving city rich in both culture and commerce, Forth Worth is home to world famous museums, universities and more than 650,000 people call “Cowtown” home. The Forth Worth Stockyards is the city’s centerpiece and is a premier livestock center.  *Destination DFW

The Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area is compromised of 12 counties, which are further divided into two metropolitan divisions: Dallas-Plano-Irving and Fort Worth-Arlington. Resident of the area informally refers to it as The Metroplex.
